🗞️ Top Marketing News This Week

  • This comes at a crucial time ahead of Google’s 2024 third-party cookie closure, when brands are trying to figure out new ways to target audiences and create personalised ad experiences without the feature.

  • From the research, 1 in 6 people say they clear their internet browsing history and cookie cache daily, while 18% say they opt out of websites’ tracking cookies on a daily basis.

  • The BIG Takeaway: Big hit to ad buyers. Users just don’t trust their data being used for ad targeting.

🚀 Big Marketing Moves You Can Learn From

Unlock the secret behind Nike's success 🔓

Use Emotional Logic in your marketing. Nike does this in a big way. Huge brands like Nike do this by tapping into the emotional needs of the audience, and then providing logical reasons to take action.

Nike's "Just Do It" campaign taps into the emotional desire to be active, to push ourselves, and to feel accomplished.

But they also provide logical reasons to buy their products, such as durability and performance.

Coca-Cola also does this very well. Their advertising often emphasizes the emotional benefits of sharing moments with friends and family, such as happiness and togetherness.

But they also provide logical reasons to buy, such as quality ingredients and taste.

How can you use this tactic in your marketing?

To use it, start by identifying the emotional needs of your audience. Then, present logical reasons why your product or service can fulfill those needs.

Tangible example.

Let’s imagine you owned a tyre fitting company. You could play on the emotions of wanting to keep family safe whilst in the car. The better your tyres the faster your car will stop, the better your grip on the road and the safer your family.

Logical reasons to follow up would be tyres that are long-lasting, competitive pricing and mobile tyre-fitters that come to you.

🤭 Marketing Hack of the Week

Steal your competitor’s best Ads. Trying to decide which ads you should run can be challenging.

BUT there is a hack. Both TikTok and Facebook Ads have libraries. Using these libraries you can research your competitors. It will then show you the ads they are using and you can analyse the engagement.

This will give you a great starting point to emulate in your own way what works BUT also avoid what doesn’t.
